Low Auldgirth
Over the hills and far away sits a small Scottish steading that works in harmony with nature. Using traditional methods and heritage breeds they farm the land in a way that enriches the environment, allowing them to produce quality farm products that capture the passion and heritage of the place it was grown.
Once a part of a larger estate Low Auldgirth farm built in the 1800’s has had many uses in the past, from a deer park, to turkey farm and finally dairy. It was abandoned in the mid 70’s and left to fall into a nature filled state of disrepair. It was taken over in 2015 by the current owners, and who since have been restoring the farmhouse and outbuildings to their former glory, whilst maintaining the nature friendly environment they inherited.
They pride themselves in the slow grown quality of their farm produce. Working with natural and organic processes to build an environment that is self-regenerative and environmentally friendly.
The key produce is wool and meat from their small flock of heritage sheep, all raised to organic standards and from well-loved and happy animals.
