-About-
West Coast Sea Products (WCSP) was founded in 1968 by lobster fisherman Mr John King. With a knack for fishing King and Queen Scallops in the Irish sea (as well as developing ingenious unique technology, founded by Mr King himself) WCSP grew remarkably in it’s first 4 years, breaking into the French and USA markets by 1971.

From there on in WCSP grew in fishing expertise, quality and size; all the while remaining a family-run business, with a strong local and community drive. The company was passed down to Mr John King’s son, John King, in 1989. John King is is now joined by his three children; Stuart, Callum and Alice.

They are proud of how far the company has come, from one small lobster boat to a fleet of 6 vessels; from having a team of 14 to employing over 150 locals; from one man’s vision to a vision that has been passed down through three generations.

But it doesn’t end there.

WCSP has attracted global renown for the quality of their Scallops, and they are continuously evolving to ensure their product is of superior quality.

2020 proved to be a challenging, yet exciting time at WCSP, with the launch of their bespoke vessel: The Alcedo, the largest boat built in the UK in the last 20 years, and the start of a new local venture, they are now better equipped than ever to serve the growing Scallop market – both nationally and internationally.

For over 50 years, West Coast Sea Products have specialised in the wholesale supply of a wide range of chilled and frozen King and Queen scallops products for our UK & European customers. They can pack high quality fresh and frozen products to just about any specification.

-Retail-
They provide a weekly delivery and collection service in Dumfries and Galloway and South Lanarkshire.

-Restaurant & Fishmonger Supply-
They offer consistently high quality produce to restaurants and fishmongers in the central belt and Dumfries and Galloway.

-Fish Markets-
They offer a fantastic selection of freshly caught shellfish and fish at the following locations:
– Edinburgh Leith Market (Every Saturday)
– Stockbridge Market (First Sunday of every month)
– Portpatrick Market (First Saturday, April-October)
– Dumfries Farmers\’ Market (First Sunday, February-December)
– Moffat Farmers\’ Market (2nd Sunday, February-December)
– Kirkcudbright Farmers\’ Market (4th Sunday, March-November)
