Borderlands Brewery

Borderlands brews beer in the heart of Langholm, also known as ‘The Muckle Toon’. Nestled in the Esk Valley, deep in the once lawless debatable lands, where they are proud of their history, and proud of their beer.

Founder of Borderlands Brewery, Stuart Campbell, rekindled his love of brewing and developed an ambition to open Langholm’s first brewery in over 100 years. Starting to brew in the kitchen at home, he quickly expanded his recipe book before seeking a premises.

The current location is on Langholm High Street, only yards away from Langholm’s original historic brewery. Now acting as brewery and shop, Stuart has a vision to open Langholm’s first tap room to share his passion with locals and tourists in the near future.

The brewery is a two and a half barrel plant, allowing them to have great control over the quality and consistency of the beers by brewing in small batches. They brew for taste, not volume. Each of the locally inspired beers is hand crafted from brewing to bottling, using only premium malts, the finest hops, water and yeast.

As well as their three core beers, they have a limited edition ‘brewers selection’; a small batch ‘one and done’ that will only be available once every couple of months or so.
